To All You Color Geeks

Color Geeks

This one is for you color geeks out there carrying the iPhone. Pantone has just released an app that has many functions, but the one function that caught my eye was that it reports the LAB value of all of the colors.

This LAB can be used in Roland VersaWorks in the Spot Color Settings area to help better match Pantone colors used in a file. If you are a color geek, you know how to do this, or if you have been to any of my Roland VersaWorks training classes. That is if I didn’t bore you to death and you fell asleep.

Having this app is not the only way to get the LAB of a color, but I just thought it was cool enough to share.

This was written before we changed the window layout in the program. We are working on updating this document. See here for screen changes.

That’s it for now. As always, good luck out there!
